When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you publish images on the website, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract this location data from the images published on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our website, you can choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are intended to make things easier for you, so that you do not have to re-enter your details when you leave another comment. These cookies will remain active for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.

When you log in, we also set several cookies to save your login details and display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, whilst those relating to display preferences last for one year. How long do we keep your data?

If you leave a comment, it and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This enables us to automatically recognise and approve any subsequent comments, rather than placing them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website (where applicable), we also retain the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (with the exception of their username, which they cannot change). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.

What are your rights regarding your data?

If you have an account on this website or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file containing the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You may also request that we erase all the personal data we hold about you. This does not include data that we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.
