Patrice Brunet Biography: In 1990, Patrice opened an antiques and art shop at the Paris flea market. He opened an antiques and art gallery in Paris in 1995. Patrice visited the United States on business for the first time in 1996. In 2001, he moved to Pensacola, Florida, working as an antiques and art dealer. He then moved to Birmingham, Alabama in 2003, continuing his work as an antiques and art dealer. Patrice became a full-time artist in 2006, painting and selling his original artwork. In 2007, Patrice became a listed artist.

A place steeped in artistic history

La Bonne Franquette is more than just a restaurant: it was a popular meeting place for the great Impressionist artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Pissarro, Sisley, Cézanne, Toulouse-Lautrec, Renoir, Monet, and Zola would often be seen there, gathered under the garden arbors after climbing Montmartre. Suzanne Valadon and Utrillo, neighbors from the area, also frequented the restaurant, as did the famous paint merchant Père Tanguy. Vincent Van Gogh, who lived at 54 rue Lepic, painted his iconic “La Guinguette” there in 1886, a work emblematic of his early Parisian period.

Participating in this course means painting in the footsteps of the masters, immersing yourself in the unique bohemian and artistic atmosphere of Montmartre.
